Conceived as an active location for creative projects, equipment, and maintaining machinery, the shed also stores toys such as boats, motorbikes, surfboards, and kites. In addition to the maker space concept the shed houses a small living space that could accommodate the owners and their friends for short stays.

The shed utilises a standard structural and cladding system that is economic and easily erected. The 9x4m end bay has been fitted out with a kitchenette / living space, a bedroom and mezzanine. A small ablutions block has been added as a separate structure and connected to the shed by a generous deck and outdoor cooking area. Friends can gather, perching next to the cooking fire on the concrete bench.
